Surface organic skin care is free of:

Paraben, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben and Butylparaben, a group of compounds widely used as antifungal agents, preservatives and antimicrobials in creams, lotions, ointments and cosmetics.
PEGS (polyethylene glycols), widely used as thickeners, softeners and moisture-carriers.
Benzyl Benzoate, widely used as a fragrance, preservative and solvent.
Phthalates, a group of endocrine-disrupting chemicals found in in synthetic fragrances and cosmetics like nail polish.
Triclosan, classified as a pesticide, widely used in antibacterial soaps, deodorants and toothpastes to limit the growth of bacteria and mould.
1,4-dioxane, a petroleum-derived contaminant formed in the manufacture of shampoos, body wash, childrenâ??s bath products (usually not listed on ingredient labels).
Ethylene Oxide, found in fragrances and shampoo. A known human carcinogen and one of the 48 chemicals the National Toxicology Program (NTP) identifies as mammary carcinogens in animals.
Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), a group of chemicals that occur naturally in coal, crude oil and gasoline.
Placental extract derived from human or animal placentas.
