Great sushi restaurant for a first date.
It’s upmarket, so do dress up a little.
The ambience is romantic with soft lighting.
Food is great, and is great accompanied with Sake.
Very pricey though .

One of the best Japanese meals I have ever experienced. The place is fancy, and you need to book in advance. It is clearly frequented by bankers and 'suits'. Stage hostesses are all friendly and there is definitely a 'look' to them, as in, the room was filled with ridiculously good looking people.
We sat at the bar where we could watch the chefs prepare the dishes with mastery and skill. Dish after dish, I was blown away by the full flavours and beautiful presentation. Highlights include the balmain bugs in lettuce cups, the kingfish and the wagyu!
Pricey, but really a great experience.

Went here with my sister for a special occasion. The Establishment is very glam, so don't dress like a dag, and take your wallet with you ! The sushi was delicious and service swift and friendly.

Wow, there is a reason this delightful Japanese restaurant is award winning. A part of the 5 star Merivale chain, the cuisine, the service, the atmosphere, the presentation - all amazing. It is very $$$ so best to keep this one up your sleeve for a special occasion or an important corporate lunch. The attentive staff are on hand from the time you enter the 4th floor ushering you to your table (which happens to be a communal marble table overlooking the chefs. Quite amazing to watch how they slice and prepare with such elegance). As a group of 4 we opted to select a few dishes to share including a selection of edamame, prawn shumai, salmon tartar, spider and establishment rolls. The food is superb and despite the petite portions more than enough to leave you feeling satisfied. As a complimentary of the house a shot glass of raspberry panacotta was a very pleasant treat to end the meal.

One of the best sushi restaurants in Sydney. Possibly one of the most expensive too. But in a place like Sydney you get what you pay for.

You can either sit at the sushi bar and watch all of the chefs prepare all of the food you are about to consume - which is actually very cool. They use a blow torch to cook alot of the sushi. However if you are after more intimate dining you can sit at any one of the tables on the edge of the restaurant. This is more appropriate for a date or if you have private matters to discuss. You would think that not being a huge seafood fan would make dining at Sushi-e difficult but it doesn't. There are a lot of non seafood options and even I was encouraged to try some of the cooked seafood and to my surprise it was delicious!
