This is a busy but good restaurant. Have eaten here a few times and never disappointed. Prices are fair to high. It can disappoint with the time you need to wait, as the place is small. But you can do takeaway, whihc we have done too. Worth a visit. You won't be disappointed.
Sushi Train at Maroubra occupies a relatively small space but it is always busy and filled with locals at any given time of day. The place feels a little cramped thanks to the wooden boat decor that lowers the ceiling, but it has both big tables and stools all around the conveyor belts.
The pricing is still classic in a way that they don't have flat rate plates. They range from $3 to $8 per plate, including some other made-to-order dishes like agedashi tofu and karaage chicken.
In addition to the usual suspects, they have other unique sushi such as aburi duck. One of my favourite is the volcanic island, a super huge scallop with crab salad and heaps of sauce, served on a shell (for $5 a serve). It was supposed to be warm but only the shell was hot. Overall, the food was alright and the service was quite prompt but I have had fresher sushi elsewhere in Sydney and cheaper in that too.
