Stopped in the check out the cider tasting. Was a bit disappointed with that side of things as you get a small plastic shot glass that is refilled with the two different types. They do have a large selection of juices you can taste in the same way. We tried one of their homemade beef pies, and it was definitely homemade - wasn't amazing, but was fresh. It is quite pricey there, but I found everything in the area to be expensive. It's definitely worth stopping in the taste the juice and check out the photos of everything they do with apples.
A huge disappointment. After hearing how good it was from the locals we decided to give it a go. Everything was overpriced, $9.00 for a homemade "gourmet" pie that was no bigger than a bakery shop and nowhere near as nice. I make better pies myself. The apple pie that everyone raved about was $12.50 for one slice with a scoop of homemade ice cream that wasn't very nice. The pie itself was average and didn't taste as good as a frozen pie from the supermarket. We won't be going there again.
I was with a group of six who popped in on this place after hearing about how good the cider and apple pie was on Friday 29 Jul. I have to say not only I but everyone in our group was very dissapointed with the service from the staff at the counter, they were very unfriendly despite the fact we bought several bottles of cider. When we asked for some local information they were very unhelpful and basically ushered us out the door. We had heard good things about the apple pie but decided not to go back and went to another establishment which not only had all their products available for sample but offered brilliant service with a smile. I definitely wouldn't reccomend Suttons, not a friendly place for visitors to the region at all. Sometimes a smile and helpful attitude goes a long way...
