Swell Asset Management is a privately owned investment manager specialising in listed equities. Swell has been appointed by Hughes Funds Management (HFM) to manage its equity strategies. We are an exclusive authorised representative of HFM under its Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL).

At swell we invest in three individual strategies.

1. Emerging Strategy
We seek to buy great companies before the crowd arrives. Our focus is on the sweet spot of the Australian economy ? where the innovation is occurring. We want to find and own companies that can sustain growth for a number of years. The strategy predominantly generates capital growth for our investors.

2. Global Opportunity Strategy
We seek to own companies that have carved out a competitive advantage. They are well known global companies with entrenched market dominance e.g. Visa, IBM, Microsoft. Our principal focus with this strategy is capital preservation. The strategy predominantly generates capital growth and a smaller income component.

3. Private mandate
We are happy to work with you to personalise a strategy to suit your needs. A number of our clients have a large interest in a publicly listed company that they wish to retain. We can formulate a portfolio around this position. We can also assist in managing the transition of a large holding to one of our strategies.
