ANYONE that is looking for swimming lessons in Ballarat shouldn't look any where else! Swim and Survival Academy is the BEST place to go. The staff are amazing and their program has really helped our children progress quickly. I disagree with the comment below about lack in communication as their customer service is the best I have ever had. The staff communicate with you all the time. They are always making changes to improve what they do. You can't get makeup lessons any where else in Ballarat and you need them in this cold weather.
Thank you Swim and Survival Academy for all your hard work and love for all the children in the pool. I would give you 10 stars if I could. Keep it up :)
I would just like to say that I have been a client of Swim and Survival Academy nearly 6 years now and my two boys love coming to swimming lessons every week, it is their favourite day of the week. Both my boys have fantastic teachers at the moment and all their past teachers have been fantastic asweI feel that my childrens progression has been great, we started in the Tiny tacker programme when the boys were very young and they have just come so far and now are both swimming in learner classes all by themselves very confidently and happily. I have never had an unresolved issue with any of the staff their, if i ever have a question they deal with it straight away and give me the best answers with the best attitude. They have always contacted me if need be and and have alwayI feel that my boys have always been put into the most approriate classes for their level and that they have never been put into a class beyond their swimming capabilities. Very happy. All staff are beautiful and generous to us and our three children. Would not go anywhere else! Wonderful structure to the lessons and friendly staff that are always smiling and happy to update progress.
The kids love it, it puts a smile on their faces, and that makes us happy :)
Thanks guys.
I have been coming to the swim and survival academy for 3 years now we both my children and this is the place to be! From the moment you walk through recepetion ou are greeted with smiling faces and everyone is there to help. The shift supervisor, Tanya is always there to give me feedback on how my kids are going and you know that the kids must be enjoying it when they ask to have make up lessson everyday. My children's swimming has improved so much and i thank the great teacher that they have, Ellie. She is always smiling and having fun with the kids.
If i had to recommend a place it would defantly be the swim and survival academy, all the other places in Ballarat to do not have anything on this place. i give it 5 stars but i needs more than that!! Thanks to everyone at the Swim and Survival Academy i dont know what we would do without you.
While my son enjoys swimming, he wasn't given as much attention as I felt he needed because he was in a group of five novice swimmers with only one teacher between them most of the time. Halfway through the term I received a phone call from the Swim and Survival Academy telling me that they'd moved my son into another class. I was like what do you mean that you've moved him, he's my son. You've done what to my son? They didn't ask me if they could, just rang me up and said that this is what they were doing! When I asked why, they gave me a few different excuses.

It is funny you should write those comments Kittgirl, as I felt exactly the same way. The management were very hard to talk to and made a lot of promises they never ever kept. After speaking to them numerous times about their policy, only 4 to a class with one teacher, if anymore than 4 they would have 2 teachers in the class, it never ever happened, only being explained they were short staffed yet again. My child was comfortable with one teacher and also moved him out of that class and put him up a level that was way above his ability. After asking the staff numerous questions, I found out the reason they had moved my son was to make room for new people starting up in the lower level class. My child was just a number to them, and thet see money over the ability of my child and the level he was on, and they bumped him up to a class that's ability left my child feeling inadequate. I took my child out immediately out of there.
Firstly I must appologise for not replying to this earlier. As the manager of the Swim and Survival Academy and I am very disappointed with how this has been handled. This was a miscommunication problem that appears to have escalated out of hand. Kittgirls son was doing well in his class and he received a certificate to graduate to the next swimming level. He was told by his instructor that his certificate would be ready at the reception desk. This fantastic news obviously didn't get to mum. When Mum turned up at the next lesson, she was understandably suprised that her child was in a new more advanced class at the same time slot. We did explain what had happened. Mum was upset about the change so we offered the original postion back to her. Mum became irate/irrational about the situation, claiming that her child was being victimised. Supervisors and managers tried to fix this with Kittgirl to no avail. We only wish this could have been resolved earlier.
Getting a certificate wasn't the issue. It would have been great news if my son was to be moved into a class where he could actually touch the bottom of the pool! When I complained about this, I was told by you and staff that he was being shunted out of the class he was in, into that new class, because of an influx of students.
