Swipengo Car Hire

Hired car for a week. Was an 87 camry and i paid 290 for it. Inside of car was clean and they had put in booster seat and set tomtom to destination. No mention at time of booking about $200 bond so was surprised to see extra money taken from card. Returned the car earlier than first booked with near full tank of fuel. Asked about bond return, told up to 10 business days. Most money was returned by 9 business days. Courtesy email stating why $21 was missing would have been nice.
Overall not too bad. Much easier to get around GC with own car.

What a joke of a company. The car we hired was dirty and the front tyres were worn. Probably wouldn't pass road worthy. Apon payment of the car, they hold a $200 bond which would be given back after the return of the vehicle. When it was time to return the car, i asked the lady when would i receive my $200 back. She tells me that they will process it immediately but the bank will take 10-20 days to release the funds into my account. I found that to be a bit strange. 4 weeks later and still no $200 in my account. My wife sent them 2 emails but they bounced back. I then called up my bank and asked if they do indeed hold onto the funds and they said "No way". Once the transfer has been made it should be in the account within 3 days max. They had no record of any transfer being made from this mob. I still have not receive $200 deposit back after 4 weeks! I've been advised to wait for 2 week for processing which is already ridiculous. I've wasting too much time & phone calls to follow up, just to hear the response that they would check & call back, but then never did. It's not worth a cheaper rate for this pressure!
