Don't bother. There staff are rude, yes I was lucky and got a good car the six months where they can't even bother to call to ask for my details to change the rego over. Driving backwards and forwards is really not my idea on how to buy a car and feel like you got a good deal. These people actually blamed us, said it wasn't their fault and all of the rest of that poor customer service stuff that comes with a poorly run business.
NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!! I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH TROUBLE WE HAVE HAD JUST TO GET THE CAR OUT OF THE LOT INTO OUR POSSESSION, JUST TO HAVE IT GO STRAIGHT BACK BECAUSE OF MECHANICAL PROBLEMS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PICKED UP ON THE ROAD WORTHY INSPECTION. THEY TOOK OUR MONEY, THEN GAVE US A OLD PIECE OF JUNK THAT THE DOORS DONT EVEN OPEN TO DRIVE AROUND IN UNTIL THEY CAN BE BOTHERED TO FIX IT. NOT GOOD ENOUGH SERVICE IM SORRY!!!! WILL NEVER BE REFERRING THEIR BUSINESS TO ANYONE...
I have lost faith in Syd Ellis Motors (Maidstone). I bought a '97 Vectra (V6) from there in November 2008. By January 2010 it was on it's last legs! The first problem I encountered was the central locking mechanism becoming faulty - $600 to replace! Then the gear box went - another 3k down the drain! Shall I mention all the other problems? It would take me too long! Most recently I spent $500 on it, and it ran no better... and I was staring down the barrel at another 4-5k for repairs for a number of problems. I've traded it in, gotten finance and am getting a new car... nevertheless I've had other second-hand cars before but the Vectra was the one that did NOT serve me well. Shame on them!
