YHA Central is great place for young people. Accommodation is affordable, considering it's location in the inner city. There are several recreational activities: in-house cinema, library, pool table and indoor pool. The hostel does look a bit old and tired but it is clean and tidy. Views from the roof top are awesome!
I stayed here one night and have been to the restaurant a few times but the place has every thing but the staff are suspicious and arrogant.
As we ate and the restaurant was near closing in march last year on the night of the mardi gra the waitress did not hesitate to start clanking loudly plates and stacking chairs extremely loud around us as my boyfriend still ate .We were both abit shaken and it was brazen , very selfish and she was unshameful even as we decided to clear out early .
The conditions in the accomadation are nice and it is clean, but the people that work on the desk really sus everyone out in a way that does not make you feel welcome at all and they dont smile at you.To tell you the truth it was not hospitality . It is very large and impersonal feeling about it.
Stayed here approximately 3 times and even though the outside of the building looks old and run down the inside is fantastic. The mezzanine level is great with a lot of lounges, tables, a games room and smoking balcony. The rooms are small and some don't have toilets but the public ones are very clean and well lit so you still feel comfortable showering or shaving. Prices are good and very close to the train station so what more could you need!
