Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (The)

Totally unacceptable waiting time at Orthopaedic Outpatients. Pre-arranged appointment times are useless as, for example, with an afternoon appointment it's advised to arrive by 12:45 and get your name on the list. Even then you wait several hours. With a screaming baby. Wonderful. Compared to corporate working environments, workers in health don't appear to have much sense of urgency. I mean, just watch them at their computers at reception - torture.

The emergency wait time is absurd! I've had to wait 8 hours to see a doctor for my child. We've travelled to 3rd world countries & had to go to emergency twice with our kids. We we're attended to within minutes, in their public system. At Westmead, it's like we're in a 10th world country. It's absolutely ridiculous!!!

Westmead children's is a shining example of what the public health system should look like. Friendly staff, competent drs & nurses, modern facilities. I'm sure there are people with bad experiences, but I've just come out of a great one & can't be more thankful for them.
