Central station... unfortunately not a high point in the Sydney public transport network. It is enormous with over 20 platforms and accommodates both the Sydney network and the intercity services. It is also like a labyrinth, there are entries and exists everywhere, connecting tunnels and multiple exit points from each platform which take you different places. It also has a dirty atmosphere, even though I don't question that they clean it regularly. I think the dirty-feel is more to do with the age of the platform and the many homeless people who congregate and pass time there. On the plus side, it is above ground! This makes it the only city station where you don't have to await your train in a stale sauna (aka Town Hall and Wynyard Stations).
