Symposium Cafe is a boutique cafe and breakfast restaurant. It has been designed to reflect the definition of the name. An ancient Greet meeting place.Symposium, the perfect place to discuss work, share stories or catch up with friends.
Catering to the health conscious community we provide an all day breakfast and lunch menu focussed on the Paleolithic diet. The menu boasts grass fed protein, low carb, vegetarian and gluten free options.
We have daily deli options for the on the go meal. Fresh salads and house made sweets.
All our sauces and preserves are made in house. Come try our habanero chilly sauce! Once of the hottest in town.
Fresh juices, smoothies and frappes also available with a additional selection of health powders including: protein, chia seeds, cacao and vital greens.
Our coffee is produced by one of Australia's foremost coffee houses - Veneziano - crafted and roasted in West End. Continuing our health focus we also offer almond milk and lactose free milk options.

This is a great small cafe that's conveniently located in Newstead. I found the food to be delicious and the staff to be very accomodating. When we requested that they 'veganize' the avocado mash, they gave us extra avocado/veggies and upgraded our bread for free. I will definitely go back there for breakfast again and would like to try lunch in the future.
As its location may suggest, this is a cafe to suit the working class and it isn't open past working class hours. If you want to explore a different menu here is the place. I honestly have had hit and miss in the food, so here I prefer the smoothies and juices, they are fresh and amazing! The coffee is really better than blue sky's but the hot chocolate isn't. The variety of tea is great too! Cozy vibe though bustling at lunch, and very friendly staff who will not shy from conversing or serving professionally even under crowd pressure- if you frequently haunt this place chances are they know your order before you open your mouth. Office or staff meetings here is a very convenient thing with regular practice.
