There is no doubting that the food from TGI Fridays is great, i have eaten here twice and on both occasions the food was cooked well and very tasty. BUT the service is shocking. Slow and the wait staff were a little condescending and rude. Very pricey too, i think you are supposed to believe you a paying for premium ingredients, but seriously its pasta, burgers and chips it shouldn't cost the earth. Their cocktails are mouthwatering but again they are on the pricey side. Good place for dinner but not when in a hurry or on a budget!
Reading the other reviews here, and I assume they trek you up to the Chapel Street end of the Restaurant for effiiciency and ease of service for the staff. Also, the restaurant is decked out with plenty of memorabilia, which is primarily focused around the bar area; another reason for their seating arrangement? (Although I agree, that there are times when we would be just as happy to sit at the Cinema end and take in the open expanse of the Jam Factory.) This location certainly has a more authentic feel to it than its Cheltenham restaurant, where the service and food is every bit as great, but the environment and decor is not anything special. (Nor the view: Nepean highway Cheltenham *yawn*) My kids and friends enjoy the Jam Factory TGI's, and the immediate offerings in the surrounding shops. Great location. Hearty food. (And yes, just a tad expensive - but you walk away with a very full belly ...)
Expensive but hearty meals... they do take a little while to get to the table though. But it is definitely a good place to find traditional American/pub-style meals like steaks and burgers and great big baskets of fries. The staff are a little frantic like they're always one person down but generally it's a good place for a dinner before a movie or to allow friends-on-budgets to join you.
