Tak Chee House

My family used to go to Tak Chee at least once a month when I was a kid. My favourite dish was char siu pork, a marinated barbecued bright red dish. I especially loved the crispy charred bits at the ends. Back then the restaurant was on the corner of Roe and William streets, where the state theatre now resides. At the end of the meal, the owner would come out from the kitchen and sit with Dad to talk about about business, family and Malaysia.

Best chicken rice - not sure about anything else, for the price cant go wrong !

This is quite disappointing place to go. There are many good report on their hainan chicken rice. However when I tried it, they are not as impressive as I expected. However they do have some authentic dishes such as sambal vegetable, salted fish bean sprout that are quite ok. The place is quite small and i go there only if there is no alternative.

The chicken rice was very nice but the best thing about this place is the Ice Kachang. For $4.50 it was worth going back again.

This restaurant is famous for its deep fried chicken rice. Yum Yum. Price is cheap and food is not bad.
