I was holding a meeting with fellow youth members in this vicinity.
We purchased two bowls of chips, four beverages and three deserts.
Everything was wonderful until as we were departing we overheard the waitstaff complaining of our use of their restaurant as a meeting point. They complained that we didn't order a meal and stayed there too long.
To be fair, if the restaurant was busy and the tables were in need we would have understood this and would have left after eating our food, in actuality the place had a total of two other tables of people in the room, which means that we were not taking up needed tables or being a hassle, we spoke quietly and politely. ...read more
0 stars - tried to celebrate my 40th birthday with family at this pub on a quiet Tuesday night. Waited 2 hours for the kids to finally get very average and small meals and the adult meals never arrived. Cost us $370 for kids meals and drinks then had to order pizza's from across the road and go back to our place to eat! A complete debarcle. Spoke to the management eventually (avoided phone calls from us) but they didnt care and no refund. Dont waste your time .....
I asked a simple question and was completely ignored, to add to the insult they took our menus before we even orded. The food was very very average, for a nice looking town this really gives a bad impression. Not happy at all.In fact I would like to complain to the owner of this establishment.
I agree, Its sad! this used to be a decent local pub with honest food at reasonable prices. They renovated the place in a sterile style, eradicated the rather cheery garden garden and then put prices up and food quality down. And to add even more insult the wine list is weak and overpriced. Gisborne deserves (a lot) better.
