I'm sad to write this, as this used to be our go-to place for Laksa in the neighborhood. Tonight we ordered the chicken Laksa and it was horrible. Only one kind of noodles (They have always served it with 2), huge quantities of bok choy (Perhaps this was filler to replace the lack of noodles? This has never been in any Laksa I have ever eaten!), and the driest chicken I have experienced in takeout in Sydney, hands down. We also ordered green curry fried rice which had no flavor and barely any tofu. It's a shame as we were trying to turn new guests onto Thai on Wok.
Ordered from Menulog for home delivery from here. The delivery driver was friendly and on time.
Items ordered were Curry Puff (Vegetable), Pad Thai Chicken, Roast Duck Red Curry, and Plain Rice. The curry puffs were nice and crisp. Good flavour to them. The pad thai also had a decent flavour but could’ve done with more tamarind as a bit light on it. The curry was pretty good with chunks of duck in it. The sauce could’ve been a slightly thicker.
For some reason I had a bit of a hankering for some Thai food, so fortunately as I was wandering along Glebe Point Road I saw this Thai Restaurant. In particular I was looking for some curry, and they were more than happy to help me out in this regards, and for a pretty decent price at that. As a restaurant it is pretty small, and does get a little crowded, but the fact that the kitchen is actually in the restaurant proper gives it a much more authentic feel about it that some of the fancier Thai restaurants you see about the place. As for the curry, well, it came pretty close to my expectations and I certainly left this place rather content. Unfortunately, since I don’t live in the area I doubt I’ll be back, but it is certainly worth checking out, though I’d avoid it on hot days – the airconditioning isn’t that flash.
