Bit lazy and felt like some home delivery. Ordered from Menulog and have had food delivered from this place before. Order placed, the delivery was within the time frame advised.
I had Curry Puffs which were nice and crunchy with a vegetable filling. The Duck Roll was filled with lots of vegetables too especially cabbage and nice chunks of duck. It was very nice. The Pad Thai With Chicken was lovely in flavour but wish they used thicker rice noodles.
Quite reliable food from here and no hesitation to have again.
It has been years since I last visited Thai Riffic Newtown but when I re-visited them last weekend it was exactly as it was a few years ago. The place has been kept pristine and modern as I remembered it, with low light atmosphere, beautiful wooden furniture and dcor, and contemporary furnishings. They also have outdoor areas at the back of the restaurant for when you feel like having more natural setting.
I really recommend their King Prawn Pad Thai (grilled king prawns served with stir fried thin noodles and homemade sauce). The duck dishes that we ordered were also quite good.
All of the foods are beautifully presented. The portion sizes are quite small, so in a sense it is a little overpriced but otherwise it is a nice place for a meal on a night out. The staffs are really helpful and the food came pretty quick so that is another plus.
Been here about three times and sadly it's too busy. Tthe meals took well over 40mins. This was the same when I went here for a romantic diner and later in a big group. You do get warned when you order, but once you sit down or book with friends, your not going to leave are you?
As for the dishes they were fine, perhaps a little pricey considering that Newtown has so much Thai competition. No one in the group liked the Pork Belly, even the person who ordered it, way too fatty.
If you like crowds and don't mind waiting, Thai Riffic is for you.
We managed to dine in this restaurant two times over the past week and I can really say that I really like the place! Stretched over a spacious two-story building, the relaxed atmosphere and contemporary interiors manage to subdue the busy-yet-exciting ambience coming from the guests. The staff are also busy but they are always attentive and friendly and we were very well served on both occasions.
The last time we dined, we started off with their own king prawn salad entree to boost our appetite, followed by the recommended barramundi curry as well as chicken stir fried creamy sweet chilli basil. We opted for a healthier brown rice which nicely blends with the dishes we ordered.
We also had the chance to try their custard cake on top of a bed of black sticky rice served with coconut-flavoured vanilla ice cream. It fully wrapped our already-satisfying dining experience and made it perfect!
