On our second night in Mooloolaba, we found it hard to decide on what to eat as we didn't feel like the usual steak or Italian cuisine. So after browsing through the many different restaurants on the Esplanade, we weren't sure where else to look around or even worse, what we even felt like eating. After 10 mins of saying "umm & aahhh" my friend said, Thai? With an instant craving for spice, I immediately searched for the nearest Thai restaurant and it led me to Thai Seasons which had positive reviews on True Local and also other review based websites. It was a no brainer since everyone had rated this place highly. When walking into the restaurant, it does not look appealing at all. It seems as though the owners just didn't want to spend any money on upgrading the place ever since the 1990s. You had to place an order at the front counter before seating yourself with a number. This place is usually mega busy because the food is so good. We always expect a long wait but it is worth it. They have the best prawn pad thai I have ever tasted. We usually get takeaway but you can eat there inside or outside. The surroundings are basic and the outside area is just a whole lot of tables and chairs on a vacant lot, kind of like a beer garden. Great food with reasonable prices.
I LOVE this restaurant. Go to it on any weekend and it is always packed out (always a good sign of quality). My Dad lives at the Sunny Coast and every time I visit it's become a ritual to get takeaway from these guys. Their food is exquisite and the staff are always very friendly. It does get very busy, but we always order takeaway and go for a walk on the beach while we wait. Particular favourites are the Veggie Stir Fry with cashews and tofu, and vegetarian Pad Thai.
Thai Seasons is highly rated on my restaurant list. Their food is delicious, It is like taking a trip to Thailand without the fuss of the plane. If you like Thai food this is the place you should go. The only thing that let's them down (not an important thing) is where you pay for your food gets a little squishy and it gets quite busy, so get in early. last time I was there they also didn't have eftpos facilities so just in case, bring cash - it's well worth the effort.
