Good place for a decent honest feed without fine dining prices, if you're in the Cleveland st area, quite possibly if you're seeing something at the Seymour Centre which is very close by.. park in a side street or Shepherd St or walk there ! The booths are ok but it's not so easy for those with mobility problems. I had a seafood dish as well as mixed entree, they were both good and nicely presented. The fact that lots of uni students go here attests to the decent prices, BYO option always appealing.

Great cheap Thai. Hearty meals with stacks of vegetables. The iceberg lettuce san choy bow type thing is especially good. #reviewtowin

this would have to be the worst thai food i have ever had. when you order a chicken pad thai, you'd be lucky if you get 50 grams worth in the whole dish.

Newtown is always a tempting stroll for Thai - the bank of options promise quality at a cheap price - but how do you decide? Thai Tha Hai is a perfect substitute. For an entree, chicken pieces draped in viscous peanut butter sauce are generous in size and easily defy their price of $2.50 (each). If you are eating in, jump for the fresh spring rolls that offer soft melting pancakes with hidden vegetables, served with a sweet dipping sauce. Stir-fry options are the pick of the bunch, well marinated in their sauces with vegetables shiny and fresh and meat always dissolving, rarely chewy. Curry options have an ideal consistency, not too runny or laden with coconut cream, and pack a piquant punch. With mains generally around the $11.90 mark, stretching up to $16.90 for seafood options, it is difficult to find better Thai. Do keep the BYO option in mind however, and experiment with deserts. You will be rewarded and realise the walk up to Newtown is a lot longer than first imagined.
