I was here today with my mother for lunch. She ordered the steam rice paper cake with prawns for $13, traditional vietnamese dish. It was nicely presented, however found that the meat offered was only a few strips. While I ordered the broken rice with the lot. I've eaten this so many times at different locations, I have to agree the presentation was nice however the small thin strip of pork was questionable. It was ok overall, I think the restaurant has come across as focusing more on presentation of food rather than quality. It was prime lunch and suprising enough there was only a handful of people
I really enjoy eating at Thanh Ha for their fish sauce dishes. I was here not too long ago, remembering what it was like the other time iw as there. And its probably one of my favourite Vietnamese restuarant in Richmond. I dont come to Richmond very often but when i do i try to make sure that Thanh Ha is where i would have lunch or dinner. I ordered the sugar cane prawn stick with sticky vermicille pancake and this goes really well with fresh lettuce and cucumber dip into the yummy fish sauce. Serving size is very reasonable so i was very full after finishing my plate. Price is also reasonable and service is very quick. Busy little restaurant for lunch but quick turnover on customers and people eat and go quickly. Looking forward to next session at Thanh Ha. Totally reccomend.
I was at Thanh Ha 2 about a month ago to have dinner with my family. Busy but we were lucky to be seated immediately taking the last of 2 spare tables. We order individual dishes and everyone ordered something different. Thanh Ha 2 is known for the massive yellow pancakes which my mother ordered. I ordered the crab sticks to eat with vermicelli noodles and fish sauce and my husband order the sticky rice cake noodle with different types of meats and my dad ordered rice with steamed seafood. All came out within reasonable time, fresh and we all finished our plates. It was large serving but we were so hungry. The fish sauce to go with the certain dishes was so good. My dad said his fish was more rice and less seafood but he still finished his plate. A definite must if in richmond.
I was here earlier today with my family for lunch. We ordered a complete mix of individual dishes. There was a fried seafood noodle, rice noodle with seafood, fried won ton and Bn riu soup which is a Vietnamese meat rice vermicelli soup. All dishes were great, apart from the friend won ton, it was oily, the meat was tasteless which a real shame was. One of my pet hate in eating at any restaurant is finding hair in the food, and of course there was this long strand of dark black hair in my soup. Had two option either complain or just move on, in a place like this I cant see myself complaining would make any difference apart from other diners looking over and simply making the meal unenjoyable. Apart from that, a place likely to return, its simple and fast with lots of different options. Prices could range anything from $10-19 per dish.
I originally went here cause they were known for their large Banh Xeo (Vietnamese Pancake) and they sure were huge! Normally serves one, but best to share it so you can try other dishes. Not many Vietnamese restaurants can pull off a good Banh Xeo and this place sure delivers. As for their other dishes, it's pretty mediocre. But the Banh Xeo is a must, although if it's your first time eating it, I personally find it's an acquired taste that not many people enjoy the first time. The service here is standard, sometimes getting the order wrong due to the language barrier but don't miss a beat in correcting the order. Recommended!
