Tharen's Fancy Dress Restaurant & Bar

Tharens is fantastic for a group of friends or family that what a good night out and a few laughs. From the time you enter the staff are very friendly and provide that feeling of childhood nostalgia in their fairytale outfits. Once you are seated at your table you can venture around and pick from a variety of fancy dress wigs, hats, boas and props from every theme you can imagine offering some great photos opportunities and a memorable experience. The tables are quite snug so expect a fair bit of noise but you will be enjoying the props so much that you won't be bothered. The 3 course meal was fantastic and I highly recommend the Oysters with Pomegranate Molasses Vinaigrette for Entree (beautifully presented but never enough), the Braised lamb shanks on polenta cakes with vegetables for main (slow cooked to perfection) and of course you haven't experienced Tharens without the spectacular entrance of the Bombe Alaska for dessert. Went here for a birthday and it was a lot of fun. Great atmosphere, even though when it's busy everyone is a bit squished in. The food was good, the host hilarious, and the flaming alaska is legendary! Great to be able to swap and wear hats and accessories there even though I'd dressed up already! I recommend this for a lively group party.

Amazing vibe, good food, can get a bit noisy, best for those who like to go in a group... you will definitely meet some interesting people if nothing else... the ambience is nice, but would be better if it was not as crowded... the magician is the best... the waiting staff are really professional... expensive, but worth to try!

We came here for a friends Birthday. It was a fantastic evening. The food was great and plentiful and we had such fun swapping hats and dancing to the great music that made for a real party atmosphere.
