We found a lost kitten who suddenly became limp and very ill late at night. We rushed him down to the Animal Referral Hospital, where he was treated with urgent priority and immediately placed into treatment. The staff at the hospital saved his life and he's now a happy, healthy young man and a very special cat who we love so much. Yes, the fees are more than the average vet, but this is because it's an emergency hospital. It's where you go when there are no other options. An animal's life is priceless. Artie turned out to have a bad case of fleas that caused him to get aneamia. It was an expensive lesson to learn, but it was worth every penny to save his life. Thanks to all of the staff who saved Artie. He's so precious - a very intelligent, intensely emotional boy. I think somewhere in his little soul he knows that we saved him and he's very grateful.
Animal Referral is profit driven, with little regard for the patients in which it purports to care. I have been a customer of ARH on and off, since 2005.
Last week, I took a pet rabbit I found on a busy road to ARH, asking if they could scan its microchip, to assist me in reuniting the rabbit with its family.
Before I even walked in the door, the disinterested team member had the forms outlining minimum deposits in her hand, ready for my credit card details.
After asking if they could help me, I was advised that the vet does not have a pet microchip reader... The practice must be quite naive to consider this believable, but this was the excuse I was given. They told me to take the bunny to the RSPCA at 11pm at night.
It appears ARH has lost any sense of morality, losing sight of the compassion to which it mentions, as one of its core values.
Avoid this operation at all costs.
My dog Yogie is my life. He was admitted here for emergency surgery. I was beside myself. Couldn’t think straight but the staff were fantastic! My whole experience was made so much easier for Yogie being there. Was constantly informed of what was happening no matter what time it was. They treated Yogie like he was their own. Very professional with all the facilities you could possibly need in a hospital. The staff were the best from the Vets to the Janitor. Understanding & very respectful.
I highly recommend ARH to all who need to get their baby back.
