Amazing movie-viewing experience! Old-style theatre complete with balcony viewing. The double features are a real value, and where's a better to watch an old black and white movie than in an old theatre?! Lots of seats so you don't have to worry about finding a good one, and nice popcorn and other treats. Such a fun treat.
A page straight out of my childhood reading. I used to envy those teens who were able to sneak out of their house after everyone was asleep and watch old and obscure films in a bygone theatre. That's exactly what this is like (even though I'm much older). The decor is all preserved and feels like stepping into the past, and there are so many seats inside that (at least when I went for a Hitchcock film) it feels like you're in on a really special secret. The popcorn is great, and I've heard about the hand-dipped ice cream, but they were out of that at the time. As mentioned in the previous review, probably my favorite experience was coming out of the film after midnight and seeing a beautiful cat lounging on a plush 30's armchair. A lot of potential in this place, hopefully it stays open!
What an absolutely beautiful old world building. Amazing. And those posters from movies past - wow. But I must comment on their amazing ''ticket seller'' - friendly and totally gorgeous black and white cat - yes behind the counter. The only head ache here is parking but the venue is worth visitring and they hold so many film festivals here
