The Boat Shed
The Boatshed is the epitome of Sunshine Coast dining.
Found behind the Cotton Tree Pool on the Esplanade at Cotton Tree, we are a casual relaxed venue with spectacular views of the Maroochy River and Mt. Coolum.
Our menu is based around a selection of seafood dishes, although we cater for a broad spectrum of palates.
We are an a la carte restaurant although we invite you to come sit on our couches and enjoy the natural shade of our Cotton Tree's while snacking on a plate of tapas and sipping on a bottle of wine. There is simply no better way to spend the day.
This has to be one of the most picturesque and relaxed restaurants you are likely to find. Totally open, situated on the banks of the Maroochy River with lounges scattered under a cotton tree on the grass right on the water’s edge. Food runs the gamut from fresh seafood to Asian influenced dishes, right through to ...read more

Exceptional setting. We arrived early in the evening and had strawberry daiquiris outside on comfy chairs under the big cotton tree near the river. Pretty impressive. We waited ages for our main course but they apologised and gave us our drinks for free. The food is of a high standard and is a bit pricey, but the atmosphere is so relaxing and special it is worth it.
Fantastic food and the best atmosphere in this area. It's a lovely setting. You can have your main and then go and sit under the big tree in comfy couches. Food is a little dearer than most restaurants on the coast but the food is always good. Problem is once you are there you dont want to leave. I would recommend going for lunch so you can enjoy the views. One thing though they used to have a great duck meal and they have just taken that off the menu so i am a little disappointed.
Location-wise this is one of the best restaurants around, it's stunning and worth the visit for this alone, just to relax and eat by the water. On the other hand, whilst the food is ok, it's perhaps a little overpriced.... but that just makes it the same as almost every other place in the area.
