The Brass Monkey

It's hard not to miss this bar as you go for a wander around the Northbridge area - it is big, imposing, and stands at what appears to be a major intersection. As such it was a no brainer for me to waner in here for a drink. Like a lot of the larger pubs in Perth this one has a greater focus on sport, but also has some pretty decent lounge areas and a large beer garden. The pub itself isn't something that is hugely fantastic, and the balcony has been reserved for smokers (which seems to be a regular occurance here). I wouldn't necessarily say that it is a pub for a quiet drink, since it does have the habut of being quite loud, but it is okay nonetheless.

Such an interesting venue, from the original architecture of the old Great Western Hotel, transformed into a busy and vibrant entertainment venue, bar, sports bar and cocktail bar. There is seriously something there for everyone. You would think that a venue in the middle of the city would follow suit of similar venues by charging stupid prices for food and beverage, not at all, with $5 basics $10 cocktails and good cheap local beer specials 5 days a week, this is our place we call home in the city!
