Along with the Bulldog Cafe in nearby Nicholson St, The Breadhouse Cafe is one of the main inexpensive places that people go in Footscray to get a hearty Western-style lunch. Breadhouse doesn't have such an extensive menu as The Bulldog, as they are also a bread shop and cake shop, but they always have a chicken or beef-or-pork-roll roast with chips, also with fried capsicum and eggplant if you want, or salad if you prefer. There's other stuff on the menu as well, I never look at it, like everybody I get the roasts. I come here at least once a week. It's very nice pork with lots of crackling, good crisp chips too. They are into the thing where you get a small plate piled high to make it look like a lot, but nevertheless it's a bigger meal and cheaper than you will get in a roast place in a food mall - a pretty solid feed.
