The Brunswick Green

Well, this is the type of eclectic and laid back bar that you would expect to find crowded amongst the many other bars of its type on Sydney Road. Hey, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this place simply because each of these bars have a life and character of its own. In fact I have been meaning to come here for quite a while. So one Sunday afternoon on my way to church, knowing that I was going to be early, I decide to jump off the tram and check it out. Well, all I can say is that I was really impressed. Friendly staff, cheap drinks, and a really laid back and relaxed atmosphere. They even have a pretty awesome beer garden. It is places like this that truly give Sydney Road its character. The only problem is that there are so many other places to try out I simply do not have the hours in the week to make this place a regular hangout.

I really love the comfortable retro decor and the general courtyard vibe. The staff are always great!

My favourite pub in Melbourne. Very "Brunswick" though, so yuppies beware. So unassuming from the front it is easy to miss, but well worth checking it out if you prefer comfort over aesthetics. Reasonably priced food and drink. Friendly quirky staff. The beer garden on a warm day is just bliss. Nice live music too.

a brunswick institution, the brunswick green screams brunswick. a great pub with great atmosphere. a great range of beer available on tap or by the bottle, good food - what a place. now lets not forget to mention that beer garden. if you like the front, you'll love the back! im guessing the beer garden may be what makes the brunswick green green? either way its the crown in the brunswick green jewel!
