Driving around in buggies on Hamilton Island is one of the perks of the trip. It seems weird but something so simple is actually really fun and convenient. I had the foresight to pre-book as I'd been there before and this is a must-do. I was in queues with people who had waited 20mins just to be told if you hadn't reserved there wasn't one for you. The prices are steep but it's a good idea if you want to explore the island and don't have much time. Our buggy broke twice and they happily replaced and fixed it with no inconvenience to us and extended our hire free of charge. The pick up and drop off was seamless. I would recommend this highly and make sure to pre-book!

There really is only one way to get around all the hills of the island and they is by buggy. Renting a buggy is pretty expensive considering it is a golf cart, but it allows you to see a lot more of the island than by foot and if you don't want to be waiting for a bus at every stop, it makes sense.
The buggies are so easy to drive, they are electric so be sure to charge then when you are at the hotel or another spot with a charging station. The staff are friendly and know what they are talking about. Would recommend you getting a buggy for at least one day!
