Called in there last Saturday for a cheesecake. 3 customers in front of me waiting. 15 minutes later a young lady came out from the back carrying a couple of boxes. She served 2 ladies with those boxes & when they left she boxed up 2 boxes of vanilla slices & a couple of other things for the lady remaining. All up about another 10 minutes to wait. She finally took my order of 1 item. Instead of getting my order she asked the person behind me for their order as well, then she disappeared out the back again.
10 minutes later she reappeared with both orders.
Their customer service is appalling with having to wait over 1/2 hr for 1 item.
They either need more staff on or to serve 1 customer at a time so customers are not standing there waiting so long.

I strongly recommend this cake shop .I’ve tried many places in Sydney and overseas and this is the best for taste and value. You must try it . The shop looks beautiful and the service is really professional and polite.I purchased the continental profiterole it was light , fluffy perfect sweetness level . My favourite is still the Choc chip cookie dough ,the Cake Merchant had this way before others tried to copy . Keep up the great work guys , you’re THE BEST ,thanks for using real cream too !WHERE ELSE CAN YOU GET THAT ! Can’t wait to go back
Extremely delicious cakes at extremely decent prices (feeds about 15 in less than $30). My absolute favourite has the be the Tropical Paradise cake; it is soft, light and melts in your melt. It is perfect for my family as many don't like rich chocolate cakes.
The staff here are absolutely lovely. They are always willing to help and build a very positive rapport with customers.

The cakes are good and sells its self!... thankfully... otherwise the customer service is disgusting!! the past 2 visits to the store - 1st experience is when the cake had a black spot on the raspberry cake and the girl quickly opened and closed the lid and i asked too double check and she gave me attitude after she changed it. 2nd experience was when i had mistaken the labels when ordering when the girl opened the box and i apologised that it was the cake next to it, her response was looking at me blankly " sorry we already made it and cant take it back" i was very disappointed. My response was but its not the cake i want.. so she went back to collect the right one with also no suprise ofcourse with attitude! no good!

The cakes tend to only come in one size – but trust me when I say you will finish the cake!
Our family favourite is the Fruit Cake- the sponge melts in your mouth! Its decorated with fresh strawberry & canned peaches. At first I use to be disappointed that they use canned peaches on top – but I am glad they do as it allows me put the cake in the fridge for another date.
The staff are helpful too – always willing to add text to the cakes for free.
