The Coconut Grove
Since 1989, Coconut Grove's raison d'etre has been focused on refining splendid classical Keralan cuisine, specializing in recipes served in patrician homes of Kerala, IndiaAuthentic food with a modern approach
Our fine Keralan food is prepared by chefs from the region of the offering, which makes it genuinely authentic and, because of our selection of dishes, we offer exceptional food that has rarely been served in restaurants anywhere in the world, as the range of ingredients used in true Keralan gourmet cooking would be too laborious to assemble, prepare and slow cook. But we consistently strive to achieve this end. We are obsessive about our ingredients and spices, knowing that true flavour needs to start from the genuine raw material.
A fabulous fusion of the senses
We continue to evolve our menu and eye-catching presentation by ensuring that our chefs keep a keen watch on current trends, both in India and Internationally. Though rooted in the traditional foundations of Keralan cooking, we believe it is imperative to evolve and explore these roots wherever necessary. Our menu is fabulously diverse, our interiors are earthy and green, but our rudimentary cooking techniques are modest and authentic, using fresh and seasonal ingredients. It?s not what you know it?s how you re-create it, and that is where we like to make the difference. ...read more

I have never ever given a negative review to a restaurant, but this time around I couldn't resist. Though they claim to be a restaurant that serves authentic coastal cuisine, the food they serve is no-where close to authentic. The Kerala Parotta they served, instead of being thin and crispy was a thick blob of flour cooked on a pan. The Allepy Fish curry could easily be mistaken with a curry that you could find in any takeaway shop. It was the same case with 'Naadan (Local Kerala) Chicken Curry' - there was nothing 'naadan' about it. The service was so bad that they didn't even serve water for 45 minutes, unless we asked for it. I feel you will get far better food at any other takeaway shops. There are far better places to spend your money.
Went there tonight with my husband to unwind and have a good meal after reading all the good reviews. I had the worst service I've ever received from a restaurant. We ate a chicken appetizer which was great and expected so much from the mains, one of which was a prawn curry.... It had way too much salt and we asked to have another one made.... But realized that we had been at the restaurant for over an hour with just the appetizer. The manager was apologetic but trued to convince us to stay. I can understand when you're short staffed but that shouldn't be an excuse to provide poor service, bad food and keep taking customers in for the night. We left the restaurant after over an hour with just receiving an appetizer. We will never be going back there again
