The Coffee Club

Since becoming a VIP Coffee Club in February 2015 my first couple of visits to this store were really good, but then I met a not very nice young person who I complained about to the company and was apologised to from Head Office (not this store's Manager!) I do not go to this Coffee Club anymore :-(#reviewtowin

I have coeliac disease and the last time I went there I asked if I could have just one poached egg. The staff obliged and I think it was $2.50- expensive but I was glad I could eat something with my family. I went back this time and tried to order two poached eggs. The server said it was not possible-we were confused as we had done it before, only a fortnight ago. Staff told me I could order the smallest meal with Gluten-free toast- this is useless for coeliacs as it is toasted in the same toaster as the normal bread. I know this is a common mistake but I do wish people in working with food knew a bit more about allergies. Staff continued to insist I had to order a meal, and we had the idea to add my eggs to someone else's order, on a separate plate. This was easily done. When they came out, everything was on the same plate, and they gave us an extra plate. This was useless to me as the eggs were now covered with gluten. I went there on the weekend and that'll be the last... I ordered the lifestyle breakfast and because I'm a vegetarian I asked if they could swap the ham for something else, usually this is not a problem as something like spinach is cheaper for them to use than a meat product however it seems to be a problem at the Coffee Club and was told it would cost more. I was surprised that they were prepared to charge me more for something and yet they still charge customers full price to get things taken out??



Coffee Club prices have gone up considerably over the past few years which wouldn't be a problem if the quality of their food and service was still good. It used to be one of my favourite places to go to but now I'm taking my business elsewhere, there are plenty of other small cafes that charge less yet provide high quality food and much better service.



Very disappointed.
