I would usually prefer to steer clear of franchises when looking for a good coffee - and am known for disliking the quality of service and product at a number of major Australian coffee franchises. That said, - I will make a notable exception for 'The Coffee Club'. The name would suggest that coffee is all they do, but on that account, you'd be pleasantly surprised. The Coffee Club serves a nice range of seasonally fresh, healthy menu items too. The prices are not cheap, but I would suggest they are comparable with average cafe prices. The coffee may not be the best I have ever tasted from an independent supplier, but it is a far cry above the other coffee chains they compete with, and can be really good in the hands of the right barrista. A good spot for Mum;s with bubs in prams, as it tends to be a little more spacious than a number of smaller independent cafes. The Coffee Club pairs up well on a movie date, too.
