If you are looking for a place to eat at dfo keep walking. Atrociously slow service and average food at best. I ordered fish and chips and a coffee and there was about 1/2 the usual amt of chips you get for an $18 meal. Also the coffee came well after I finished the meal.
Cafe was half empty being 2pm. Waited 40 mins for a salad and pancakes. Pancakes cold salad had frozen bread. Plenty if staff, but nobody bothered to check only after asking did we get an answer of a few minutes. Table next to us waited longer. Service horrible, food worse. If our meals weren't prepaid I would not bothered paying full price. Coffee terrible.
The shop was partially full and there were two take away orders ahead of me... it took five minutes just to place my order. I waited 15 minutes for one take away latte and it was still not ready, i asked if it would be much longer and the barrister replied with "yes it will be' when i advised that 15 minutes was much too long by any standard to wait for one coffee the manager stepped in, put his hand in my face and advised that they were working as fast as they could. Having owned my own very successful coffee store i was about to explain how the art of making a quick coffee but thought not to worry about it. Another 5 minutes later i finally got my coffee, burnt milk, coffee ground too fine, i had asked for a strong latte and got instead a weak flat white... asked for 2 sugers... got none.
thanks coffee club, wont be making that mistake again.
