Cafes
The Coffee Club
One of the better options around - I did really want to go with the little businesses rather than the chains (though I think these are franchised anyway?), but a visit did yield a better experience on most counts than the nearby options. Stand-out was the pancakes, really well balanced with just the right amount of sweetness, plus icecream & cream on the side to lighten the flavor. Sadly they did not accept the entertainment book voucher for one of the drinks free, despite paying a whole lot for the rest (public holiday with loading) - but was not a holiday where the vouchers are invalid, as I found out afterwards. So don't necessarily rely on them working as advertised.
Service is lacking and slow. I have eaten here since I was a little girl and am now mid-20's and have never found it to be as bad as since the new management have taken over. Last two occasions the food was truly inedible. Its a shame because after openly talking about my disappointment many of my friends admitted to having similar experiences. They have lost so many loyal customers and don't seem to be doing much to rectify it.
