The Cut Bar & Grill
The Cut Bar & Grill presents a contemporary twist on the traditional steak dinner, inspired by New York's super chic steak houses.
The menu celebrates the finest cuts of prime Australian beef and sustainable seafood, all to be enjoyed within a heritage cellar in the heart of The Rocks. The man behind the meals is award-winning chef James Privett, who has created a menu featuring the steak classics as well as delicious seafood and vegetarian dishes.
Though the steaks are the highlight, grilled over beachwood and charcoal then finished under a 650 broiler, there are plenty of mains for less carnivorous folk with vegetarian options ranging from gnocchi to ravioli and salads.
At The Cut Bar & Grill you can expect impeccable service, fine wines and unique cocktails for lunch and ...read more

One of the best steaks ever. You walk down a mysterious set of steps where you only see a thick curtain, behind them the room is mysteriously dark with dim lights shining briefly on each small table. The waiters are very professional. We ordered quickly, as we were a little short on time. You are served a choice of eye or sourdough bread and it is a nice filler as you wait for your meal. We shared a 500g steak and it was amazing. Cooked it medium rare perfection. We order a side of mushrooms and Brussel sprouts.
It was a great and memorable meal and we will be back. Come if you have a steak loving friend to share a nice prime rib with you.
If you're looking for great quality food and wine then i'd recommend here! Go with the chefs special.
The restaurant is quite dark, but it suits the atmosphere. Perfect place for a romantic date, or to go with a group of people.
There's bigger tables for groups, it's very comfortable,
There's a great wine list - they have some wonderful red wines to compliment your meal. We ordered a main dish each and then some side dishes to share - worked out perfect.
Have been here 4 times now, and still going back!!
Absolutely delicious!!!
The setting is gorgeous, marble tables and cowhide covered chairs. It's warm and cozy. The service was friendly and very attentive. Great choice of wines.
I had the speared white scallops with artichokes for starters and the New York Sirloin medium rare accompanied by various side dishes, my favourite being the green beans and broccoli. The desserts looked amazing but could hardly fit one in after that sirloin.
The prices were reasonable and would definitely go again for a casual night out.
A great night out with 8 handsome gentlemen.
