Best view and the worst staff. They seem to resent you being here at all. Got told off today by the waitress for not telling them our table number. Well the dozy guy at the cashier didn't ask, it was a big effort for him to even tell us what the cakes were. They close the kitchen at 2pm and you are so annoying if you turn up at 1pm as they obviously want to go home ASAP. "I'm not physic, although i'd really like to be" she said. Well if you were physic would know that your rudeness is not appreciated and we wont be coming back here again until the owner/manager decides to train his staff properly.
I've been here twice - once for breakfast and once for lunch. The breaky was great and good value. A beautiful location for a sunny Canberra morning with fantastic views of the lake and park. The service was good - not an issue. Lunch was a little disappointing - the menu is very short and the food was below average. The staff were friendly but obviously in training. Didn't mind so much as it's such a lovely spot on a sunny day. A great place for visitors to Canberra!
Booked a table for the Mother's Day breakfast and it was fantastic. I was worried when I read the other reviews and nearly cancelled based on what was written. I'm do glad we went. Seated promptly and there was no problem moving our table near the door to a window seat. The manager was very helpful with that request. The service was prompt and every efficient and the food was wonderful. I had the full breakfast and it was one of the best I have had for a long time. The location is amazing and has to be one of the best in Canberra. It was busy - as to be expected on Mother's Day - but we did not feel rushed at all. Look forward to going again and recommend it to anyone who has the sense to make a reservation.
APPALLING SERVICE! I have attempted to call 3 times this morning to book in a function, each time the call has gone through to the events department, whoever is answering the phone keeps picking it up and hanging up. If you're too busy to answer the phone, maybe get voicemail.
Obviously don't need the business. Won't be calling ever again.
I have been to this restaurant twice now for breakfast on a sunday..each time the service has been terrible. We went on sunday and where a table of 10 the restaurant was half full we waited close to 40 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted coffee then another 10 - 15 to get menus and another 30 minutes to try to get someone to take our order. One of the staff was walking across the room we called out to ask if we could order as was told ok and he then walked off, it was only that another staff came to deliver a coffee that we finally got to order breakfast. The big pro of this restaurant it is great for kids but be prepared to wait and wait and wait at least the view is good. Arriving at 9.30 we finished at 1130 a monumental effort.....
