The Deck Mercantile Place
Located on top of the Waterside Hotel, Deck Mercantile Place is a rooftop bar with views of Melbourne. It is a great place to mingle on the open air deck, enjoying wine and gourmet pizza in the evening sunshine. Friday and Saturday nights are livened up with DJ's, so be prepared for a little dance. Available for functions, it also has a large, stylish indoor space.

I first discovered this bar when my cousin invited me here for a drink (he has a knack of knowing all of the cool bars) and ever since I first came here I've been in love with the place. Okay, it is probably a part of the Waterford Hotel, but it seems to almost be a bar in its own right. It is only open Thursdays to Saturdays, and after about 9:00 pm it transforms into a nighclub. I even visited the nightclub once and ended up spending the entire night here. In fact it is free entry, though you are not always guarenteed to get in, especially if the place has been booked out. While it is not at the part of the city I generally frequent, I still try to come here because I simply love the atmosphere, and the place also brings back a lot of great memories.
