The bouncers here are the ridiculous. They did not let my boyfriend who was wearing those standard Nikes that everyone owns into El Toppo Basement, because the back of the sole bit had a bit of 'air cushion'. I seriously don't get the hype of this place. Full of backpackers and aggressive lads. Pffft.

I've been here a few times, which is not surprising since it is located inside the Bondi Junction Shopping Center, and I have to say it really isn't all that fantastic. Basically it is one of those shopping centre hotels which have never really had a particularly big impact upon me. It isn't really a crowded pub, it has always had a handful of people in here whenever I have visited. You can sit out the front, but if you are a smoker you can't actually smoke here since it is too close to the main entrance. Upstairs they have a mexican restaurant though I'm not really all that sure if it is a part of the pub. I do like the frontage though because it seems that despite the area being taken over by a humongous shopping centre they still kept the only frontage which does like rather nice.
