The Flinders
This classic Darlinghurst pub has been rebornThe Flinders is located a short stroll from Taylor Square on Flinders Street in Darlinghurst. This old pub was resurrected in May 2010 with new owners and an eclectic, grungy new look. Inspired by US dive bars the place is dark and moody and jammed full of eccentric paraphernalia, with graffiti all over the walls and bar. Attracting an inner city crowd, food options include sausage rolls.

I was pleasantly surprised when i recently visit the newly renovated Flinders Hotel; i had expected to walk into another stuffy, pretentious new vogue pub, but what i found was a slightly grungy Brooklyn-esque bar that references its namesake in oh so many ways.
The staff like the decor are a bit quirky, but dont be put off by the stuffed animals, boat wheels or colourful lighting, the tunes and the drink mixers are great, and whats better is there is a actual dance floor...bring on the boogie!
And ladies a true bonus there, is that behind every loo door is a full length mirror, so you can make yourself look beautiful again without looking self assured. The only catch is that the loos tend to be occupied for much longer than normal!
For something a bit edgier in Surry Hills/Darlinghurst The Flinders is well worth a visit!
