The Fringe
The biggest problem with this place are the crowds that tend to relentlessly descend upon the place on Friday nights. Every time I've come here it has been absolutely packed. Mind you, it isn't open on weekends, which is a shame because I do quite like the place, however you need to be really lucky to actually get a seat. As for beers they don't have a huge range, but they aren't too expensive, and they also have a restaurant that serves woodfired pizza (which I have to admit is pretty cool). However it is the outdoor areas that attract me the most to the place, including the rooftop deck. Mind you, a lot of other people like these outdoor areas as well, and you will also find businesses regularly renting the area, which makes getting a seat much more difficult.
Came here for lunch for work on a Friday. Food came out quite quickly. We started off with some dips and bread as well as hot chips. These starters was great and tasty to fill in whilst we waited for the food to come out.
I ordered the pollo pizza which was delicious and good balance of pesto and chicken. I also tried a bit of the seafood linguine which was very disappointing. There was no little taste and was bland. However, one good thing was that the food came out quite quickly than expected. They also offer a good range of beers on tap and drinks menu.
Enter via Madame Brussells Lane, the Fringe is a decent place for lunch if you work in the area. They do artisan pizzas and serve a mean prawn and chilli pasta. The serving sizes are generous and the pricing is reasonable. They also have daily specials on the board at the front which includes really tasty sounding burgers. Service was fast as our group had pre-booked and ordered our meals in advance. There is a well-lit upstairs dining area which is good for larger groups.
Also good place to go to afterwork and the place is buzzing with after work corporate crowd on Friday nights.
