The Garden
The Garden, attached to the Leederville Hotel, is a breath of fresh air for those wanting a casual, Sunday afternoon basking in the sun. With the expansive outdoor area, casual live music playing in the background, and tasty menu The Garden is an inimitable addition to life in Leederville.

Like most of the places in Perth, I discovered this place through some pre-trip research, but I was also keen on heading over to Leederville since I had read that is Perth's hipster central. Well, this seems to be the bar in the centre of hipster central. As a bar it is actually pretty nice, mostly outdoors (as per the name) but it is reasonably well covered, and they also have an indoor area with glass walls (thus giving it quite a decent amount of light). We actually ended up having lunch here, and while the prices aren't bad, it certainly isn't one of the cheapest places to eat. As for beers, they do have a pretty decent selection.
A great spot to catch up with friends on a warm night or right after work. The bar staff are quite friendly, told them what 'sort' of wine I felt like and didn't like and they pretty much matched to my tastebuds desire, rather clever I thought.
The bouncers become a bit over the top once it gets dark, you could hear them left, right and centre asking those with thongs on to leave - so tip both men and women alike, wear the appropriate shoes if you think there is even a small chance you are going to stay out past your bedtime.
I like the Garden on a Sunday morning in spring or early summer. It's nice to be outside and enjoy a cold drink and it's a great location and venue. However, the food is not that great - or the quality you would expect for the price.
Also drinks are pretty overpriced - and I'm not referring to alcohol - juice/coffee etc.
Great place. But not so good for food, drinks or pricing.
We went there last week. We had had a few drinks but were by no means rowdy and had friends with us who were driving. The bar staff were rude and picked on one of our friends saying she was intoxicated, when she was clearly not. We had ordered food and more friends complained to the manager, as the staff were being rude and had attitude. The manager was unhelpful but let us eat our food at least. The drinks are overpriced. So many better places to drink in perth and management need to learn customer service. Staff are inexperienced and rude.
