The Gas Doctor

I contacted the The Gas Doctor (a business name of Plumbing Australia) for a service on my Brivis ducted heater. Quoted $49 for a service call, the team from General Home Services (another Plumbing Australa business) arrived, after a short period they gave me a quote for $605 for the service. After 10 minutes or so they came back saying the unit was unsafe and had to be replaced and verbally quoted an extra $7000. Subsequently a local maintainer completed the works for significanly less than then the original quote.

I have contacted requesting the refund of the $605 since they didn't do anything, but they said that they won't give it back.

DO NOT USE THESE SCAMMERS.

Over priced, once they start the job they add thousands of dollars to the quote, could not install a simple wall heater without issues, 3 days later it was finally finished poorly. Not one of the gas fitters were registed, they are jokes. Go somewhere else.

I got absolutely scammed by The Gas Doctor. They came for a gas leak test, said they'll come by fix the leak the next day for $1500. After 20 minutes of work they said that the problem is bigger than they thought and quoted me an extra $6000. After declining for further repairs I asked for the $1500 back since they didn't do anything, but they said that they can't give it back. I then received an invoice for the $1500 which was actually $1100 for the gas test, and $400 because they needed a second guy for some reason.
