If you want to be totally r****d off, call The Gas People. We were charged $1495 to supply and install a hot water unit. We later rang them who confirmed the unit was worth $780 delivered which meant we were charged $715 for less than 1 hours work to install. You take these tradesmen word only to be totally taken for a ride. How you sleep at night i dont know (probably on very expensive pillows). Steer clear. 0/10
Good service at the start after deciding to fork out 5k to get 2 heaters installed. One broke down about a month after of installation and after calling for service (which I may add was offered free of service 'if you have any problems just give me a ring and I will come around for free') I was told that they can come around 'when there is a job around that area' which who knows when that would be, plus I would still be charged. Disgusting attitude towards customers, was so happy with the heaters and came to make this complaint and managed to find a lot of other bad feedback! Unreliable, and generally inconsistent in what they say they are going to do.
Outrageously expensive parts! I have recently organised a repair to the ducted heating system done of an elderly family member. The repair was done promptly. I was however unsettled about the cost of the repair, so I contacted the manufacturer of the replacement part, to see if we had been overcharged. I was able to confirm that they had indeed charged us more than TWICE the cost of the part! When contacted, the installer seemed to have no problem with this, as they said the parts were more expensive for them to buy. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
After my gas heater broke down, i called the manufacturer to get the name of a repairer they use. A staff from the gas people promptly came to assess my heater, and said would order in the parts needed. That is about where the good service ended.
I was told the parts would be in by the end of the week, but by the and of the week i had heard nothing.Called and left a message the following week, no reply. Called again, same thing.Finally after 4 weeks, The staff turns up to repair the heater.
After replacing a flue fan and condensate pump the staff hands me a bill for $1150!!
When i asked why the bill was so much i was told the parts are very expensive.
I phoned the manufacturer the following day and found i had been charged more than double for the parts. I guess the $99 per hour the staff charges just is'nt enough.
