I haven't eaten here in the last year however I used to work close by and a girlfriend and I used to love it here so much, we would eat here often. The set up is lovely and the service it great. If you're in South Melbourne this is one of the better places to visit, just as long as the chef is still the same.
I've been here a few times, probably more than I really need to since it certainly isn't one of the better places in South Melbourne (actually, there aren't that many actually). I did have some chips here with a friend once, and they were okay, but there isn't really all that much about this place that makes me want to really talk it up. Basically I would have to say this is a classy (though not too classy) establishment that is a pub, but mostly a restaurant. They have a reasonable selection of beers available, and they also have a happy hour, which is a rarity in Melbourne. Okay, while it isn't a bad place, it is not something that I would go out of my way to have a drink at. They do have outdoor seating, but it happens to be out the front on Clarendon St.
Living around the corner from here, I particularly enjoy the daily happy hour from 4-6pm. It's a great meeting spot before a night out as there is plenty of parking nearby too. I'm yet to have dinner here but I've always had the nibbles during happy hour and have no complaints about that, just your standard pub food.
