Located within the central business district of Sydney, The Grand Hotel is a traditional pub that has been tastefully restored. Situated on the ground floor, the slightly curved, solid wooden bar is a beautifully strong centrepiece. If you want to do more than sip a quiet beer, you can opt to play a game of pool or select a song from the jukebox. Minutes from the stunning water views of Sydney Harbour, this is a great place to begin your Friday night out.

Don’t expect anything too flash from this hotel, or I should say pub but they do have rooms upstairs where guests can stay. However, it is very conveniently located and the breakfast room is fully stocked as well (which was much better than some other place’s I’ve stayed at). However, the main reason this place stands out was because there was a mess up with the booking system, and they went out of their way to make sure that it has been recitified, even though it was not their fault. It basically meant that I didn’t have to change hotels halfway through my stay. Excellent customer service.
