The only downfall was the wait between meals & the need for some new lighting and renovations to the interior. Full table service here. They had a position vacancy sign out front for a chef! Get entre's, they have perfected them and the dolmates are almost sweet. The saganaki was perfect, the chicken on the menu with sherry-cream and mushroom sauce came with rice and perfectly cooked vegetables with fantastic flavour. Four of us dined here and over ate. With a facelift and some speedy staff, this place would draw the masses. I now appreciate Greek food.
coming from a greek....Took 2.5hrs for four hungry people to recieve a banquet. In the end we got up and walked out without coffees and cakes! Way overpriced for the quality. We were told the gyros was sold out and that we would recieve cutlets instead. In our longhaul meal, the gyros arrives with no cutlets to be seen. Asked to explain - was told they made a mistake. The gyros had no flavor, either came from another restuarant, or was boiled and thrown on the grill to get some colour. the alcohol is way overpriced - 5 beers for the price of a slab. a glass of wine for the price of the bottle. In a place where main meals are under $30, it doesnt make much sense.....never again
When the waitress doesn't write your relatively lengthy order down, you know she's either got a really good memory, or she's going to forget something. In our case, it was the Greek salad that never made it. Not that we were complaining, because the portions were generous - as they should be, for the rather steep prices you're paying in this affluent part of town. All of your Greek favourites are here, many done on the char-grill at the front of the restaurant, and a few surprises - like the burger with the lot lunch special on the day we visited. The char-grilled octopus was lovely, but the keftedes were dry and overcooked. But importantly, the chips were good. The room is cosy, with a roaring fire in winter, and friendly service, but it's probably a bit over the odds for what you get.
