The Grumpy Baker in Waverton really need to pick up their act. They seem to change staff a lot - some of them are friendly but others don't look very happy. The food isn't great and too expensive for what you get. They used to have a fantastic bircher but the last few times we've gone it's be "unavailable" even thought it's on the menu. I find this happens often, you ask for a roll/sandwich, and they have "run out", but again it's on their menu. Not impressed.
Grumpy Baker in Waverton was good when it first opened but the standards have slipped considerably since the competition moved out. Poor service (expect to wait & be ignored whilst the staff talk amongst themselves or go off clearing tables)
the grumpy baker in waverton isnt actually a bakery - its just a shop. there is no baking on the premises, they reheat things.. even the pancakes that they sell are pre-cooked, wrapped in glad wrap and then reheated when served. not that ive ordered them.. if i wanted reheated pancakes id get them from IGA around the corner for less than half the price. the pies are good when they're fresh, but i saw the same 3 pies on display two days in a row the last time i went there. coffee is the freshest thing on the menu here. prices were ridiculously expensive when they first opened, they've come down a bit now, but still not value for money considering any food they serve hot is just reheated.
