The Hive Bar

The Hive bar is a cool new bar and cafe open in Erskineville. The space is an eclectic mix of recycled furnishings, varied music and emerging art. We provide a place where people can meet, share a drink and something to eat, enjoy music and watch the world go by. People are invited to bring their own records to play at our Wednesday night Vinyl Club or come along to one of our other regular sessions including Reggae on Sunday. We have a revolving collection of art throughout the Hive and welcome submissions from local artists at any time. We also have a dedicated function space upstairs with comfy lounges and city views are perfect for parties, art classes, meetings and get togethers.
At the Hive we believe that all we do should be kind to the planet, supportive of our community and above all, a knees up good time! All the beers on tap at The Hive are sourced from local breweries within Sydney and include; our very own Erskineville Pilsner and Blond from the St Peters Brewery, Sharers Larger from Picton and Pale Ale from the St Arnou brewery in NSW
We also have a varied wine list showcasing Australian wines and a changing cocktail menu using the best of seasonal produce. The Hive menu offers a selection of international share plates, burgers, pizza, salads and seasonal specials. Our menus changes each season and our kitchen is always open. We are committed to making as much of our food as possible Sustainable, Organic, Local and Ethical. We aim to source many of our ingredients from within the local area with a focus on seasonal produce and low food miles and we will work with our suppliers to try and find more sustainable alternatives.
The Hive serves Toby's Estate Organic Fair Trade blend coffee and a selection of teas and Chai. We also offer a discount to patrons who bring their own take away mug.

Great Bar in Erskineville. Relaxed vibe with a mixed of super trendy to your after work people who have just go off the train.
The bar is quite tight its not too big but I hear they have an upstairs ( think they have comedy there) I would either sit outside or at the bar. The staff are really friendly and actually like to have a hat with you at the bar. they seem to know their cocktails too. They are happy to make you something up from scratch. I had the Adelaide hills cider very nice.
They have $5 cheese burgers all day every day and you can double it up too. i would recommend them. The Chilli cheese chips were yummy too with a big portion great for sharing. Music varies and they have Djs on all the time. Great bar for a catch up with friends or a date.

A great little wine bar tucked away in the village atmosphere of Erskineville. It reminds me of being in Melbourne. Great wine, music, and tapas type food. Its a small space so dont expect to get in late at night. I think this bar is a sign of more little bars to open in this area. Check it out!
