I call this pub the 'soccer pub' namely because it is directly across the road from Hindmarsh Stadium so whenever there is a soccer match on you can be assured that this place it packed to the rafters with people all wearing their Adelaide United colours. On my recent visit I discovered that they have made the beer garden out the back a non-smoking area and have relegated all of the smokers to a small cage down the side. This is certainly a great move for those people who want to have a decent meal without having to deal with cigarette smoke. In fact I quite like what they have done with the place, making the area out the back into a restaurant so you have have a decent meal before the match. Also, it is undercover so you don't have to worry about getting wet. I must say I have been here a few times, if only because I've had friends who would shout me to a soccer match, and it is quicker to get a beer here than at Hindmarsh Stadium.
This is our local and since it's been renovated it is a really pleasant place to visit. The menu has basic pub food that is done well. Our steak was cooked as requested and the request for chips rather than mash was no problem. The kransky and kofta was also good with plenty of mash and gravy. Good wine list to accompany and great staff.
