This little gem in the middle of Mccrae is a delightfully rare find this far away from Melbourne. It is nearly always full and bookings are advised especially nearing the weekend. The standard of meals compares very favorably with the best Thai restuarants we have seen. The vegetable curry puffs were certainly above average and we're not dry or flaky. My Panang red curry is the best I have encountered and my dining partner reported her crispy pork as delicious. Service was very good and suggestions were made by our waitress regarding what we may consider ordering, which is also a nice touch that is sadly disappearing in a lot of restuarants . A great and welcome dining experience on this particular visit and we will certainly patronize this place in future.
I only ever come here for a catch up hot chocolate with a friend that lives quite close to here. Service has always been casual and calm, the cafe is always clean. And other customers of a morning are always quiet and friendly, often with a dog or two in tow.
I avoid the busy weekend rush hours in McCrae as a general rule. Which means, most of summer you will not find me popping in here at all.
I used to love going to this place, but after the service we recieved on Saturday, we will not be going back. I made a booking on Thursday for 7pm on Saturday, when we got there, we were seated. However about 5 minutes later a man came out and asked who the booking was under, we were then told that it wasnt made and that we would have to go as the table was booked for someone else. What happened to the customer is always right? I would have been more accepting of this had there have been an apology, or even an offer to move tables, or eat at a later time. There was no aknowledgement from the resturant that maybe they could have been wrong, it was pretty much - you made a mistake, you must have booked somewhere else - get out! There is no way we will be going back there, there is alot more restuartants on the peninsula and they all have just as good food and alot better customer service!
